WordPress Spam protection system, Akismet goes for a toss on 23rd August 2009, as the servers failed to be approached due to some problems in a blog’s webserver. I faced this problem for a while, as this had no adverse affect on the blog, the warning status that gets displayed on the Admin page is not so pleasant to watch.

This blockade of Akismet Spam Service eventually impacted the WordPress Stats system which relies on the same WordPress.com key that Akismet requires.
In the mean while, if this problem persists and you can not access the WordPress Stats, then you can check these 15 tools which can be used to Check, Analyze, Publicize and Monetize your blog traffic.

Clicking the Check Network Status, fixed the issue.
