13th major release of WordPress hit the blogosphere today christened as “Thelonious”. The innumerous features offered would take an entire bible to print and devour. 218 contributors worldwide worked for nearly half a year to accomplish this major feat which is gonna push WordPress to sky high as the best blogging platform ever.
WordPress 3.0 arrives with new default theme called Twenty Ten, signifying the year of release, I suppose. Theme developers have new API to tinker on and create awesome themes using the features like custom backgrounds, headers, shortlinks, menus, post types and taxonomies.
In addition to that WordPress and MU have been merged to form a robust environment using which you can control the entire installation extensively. This feature actually supports the user to run or hundred grand blogs from the same installation.
