Would not get anything confirmed yet by anyone but by the Microsoft’s spokesman Steven Sinofsky himself. Save the recent conversation between Steven Sinofsky and Geeksmack the current build of Windows Seven is actually 7046 which is an actual build and as Sinofsky has confirmed that every build being released is nothing but a Release Candidate(RC) as they are already post-beta.
Looks like the wait is far from over. But, if the date is so true, they why hasn’t there been an official notice yet?

We have received an amazing amount of feedback, many suggestions for new features too, during the beta—over 500,000 suggestions just from the Send Feedback button (which is only one of many feedback mechanisms). Putting that in perspective it is 500 suggestions for each and every developer on the Windows team, just since beta! That is clearly a lot of interest in refining Windows 7, even if a very significant portion of these are suggestions for entirely new features. We take all of them very seriously.
Ahem! So, we can expect a rock solid release around April 10th, 2009 for which we need to wait for an official statement yet. If all goes on well and perfection is attained, then we may be seeing a new and innovative OS again from Microsoft over its recent failure of Windows Vista.
Vista, Rest in Peace.
XP, You Live Forever.
Update: Windows 7 release date is set October 22nd, 2009. Can’t predict what’s the actual date. But, as per the news around, this will be the final D-Day for a revolutionary OS to hit the streets.
