Ahh, such a beautiful desktop with so many new features and the most revolutionary features which are being awaited so long. There is a recent version of Windows Seven 7 Build 7057 which has a desktop startup bug which makes an ini file to be displayed on the desktop. We are aware that an Operating System has so many system files, dlls(Dynamic Linking Libraries) and innumerable configuration files. We all are aware of their importance and we adhere to their functionality. But, we love them to be under the hood and make the system run smoothly but not to get them shown everytime. Similarly, a beautiful desktop from Windows Seven 7 has a minor glitch. Have a look.
This .ini file has the desktop related information and there is a remedy to make it disappear from the desktop. Follow these steps:
- As usual, you need to go to Run(Win + R) and throw in shell:startup and press Enter
- Now, enable your Explorer options to display the hidden and protected Operating System files – hit the combination of Alt and T and O which promptly shows you the dialog box. Click the View tab and remove the check mark from Hide Protected Operating System Files
- Now, delete the desktop.ini.
- Now, you need to log off and log back in or select this method to check without rebooting the system.
Do not forget to re-enable the check mark against the Hide Protected Operating System Files
Do suggest us in the comments if you are aware of any other procedure to remove the same.
