Strange Ritual-3 Month Baby dipped in Hot Water in India

The strange customs and rituals do follow the mankind no matter how educated and how advanced the civilization becomes. Even though they are discriminated to the content of what is required, the governments though supposedly think of educating people in such a way that people do not consider even to think of the strange rituals and customs which have crept into the human lives from hundreds of years and try to eradicate them, it is not happening as per the plan.

In a mysterious ritual followed in  Jumalapur village in Bijapur district, a couple dipped their 3 month old infant into boiling hot water and lifted it out during the festival of Balabhim near Talikot town on Friday.

The couple, Prabhavati and Sanganagouda got married a few years, but were without children. Disappointed, the couple prayed their wish to be fulfilled. Their priest speaking on behalf of the Almighty provided a boon to these couple and in return asked them to perform this strange ritual and they did.

The first baby born in the due course died early because of some ailments and unknown whether this is a challenge to the science, the baby dipped in the hot water is safe and healthy even after this bizarre experience.

So, what would happen to the baby of 3 months age if dipped in boiling water?

The possible outcomes are:

• Skin burns; after six hours, pleps form on the skin
• Pleps are defined as boils where water collects under the skin and internal organs could get damaged.
• In second-degree burns, internal fluid imbalance takes place
• Kidney and cardiac failure soon follows.

When would people do learn to stay away from the not-cock-sure rituals and customs that do not cost their lives, but others?
