Recently I wrote about the new search engine on steroids from Google which is aptly named as Google Caffeine and how the search engine provides the results in a much faster manner. And, this caffeine does surely help in bringing Google’s Apps to No. 3 position beating AOL in the race of best email service providers.

Then you have nothing but duplicate files in your system which eat up so much of hard disk space without any real purpose. And add to that, if the files are of different names, but the same content, it’s hard to detect them. So, what do I do at this time?

Perform Keyword Research in Excel Using MSN Adcenter Plugin
An online advertising campaign often converts into a success by the excellent use of optimizing the keywords. The research on keywords takes up more time than actually planning and launching the ad campaign. The general tendency of the marketing team would be to reach the vast number of audiences and cater to their needs by the product they are going to bring into the market. But, how often is the product being closely adapted to the needs of the people? Not always, for sure. The main cliche in advertising is holding the right people at the right time.

I Get Tons of Mail From The Future in Yahoo! Am I a Time Traveller?
Yahoo Mail is one of the most preferred e-mail services being used worldwide and there are thousands of email ids of Yahoo for sale online. Just how the other email providers are working so hard to prevent spam mails, but Yahoo lets the spam mails even with future dates pass into the inboxes.
Here is a glimpse of how the mail looks in inbox:

When I went through the email headers, I found out really interesting information. Even though I have registered with a Yahoo group called “scjp_media”, I had been getting these mails. The date on which the mails had been sent is 11th Aug 2009, but, when it arrives into the Yahoo Servers, it gets stamped with the futuristic date of 2038.
How would Yahoo respond to this?
Which Is Important? Google Page Rank(PR) or Alexa Traffic Rank
Google Page Rank is the most important thing every blogger and webmaster wishes to possess. Even though most consider and argue that Google PR is totally irrelevant and it does not add any considerable value to the end user, I differ to agree with this point. I consider PR to be the judging factor for any website or blog. It provides the end user, that is, the reader to understand the credibility of the site and the background effort involved in maintaining such as good blog.
The more the PR, the more value a site is considered to be adding up to the Google reserve of voluminous information arranged in an index form for easy retrieval. While Alexa Traffic Rank provides the daily visitors strength and the stats providing increase or decrease in the traffic levels over a period of time, most consider Alexa rank to be misleading. Again I differ from this point. Alexa provides competitive statistics of a site including the number of inbound links and a overall general stats depicting the improvement of a site in the span of 3 months. And for free, and without any registration. Even though there are several tools to analyze, publicize and monetize a site, many a blogger tend to use both these tools as yard sticks in order to understand the popularity a particular blog/site has.

Ahem! Team Nirvana is no where near to that graph, for the time being. Google PR is considered a plus for any webmaster and even though people do not agree with its use, they tend to make use of it when the need arises. The more length the bar is, the green Google PR bar guys, no silly thoughts, the more the webmaster gets for the ads placed on his/her site/blog and the more a site/blog can be sold for.
Yahoo Makes Web Site and Feed Submission Easy
Bloggers and webmasters tend to submit their sitea for several search engines in order to get their site crawled and indexed. The sites and blogs getting indexed, results in clicks when people searching for a specific keyword find the indexed site.
I would like to mention how you can submit your site to Yahoo! and request it to crawl your site. Yahoo! provides a feature called SiteExplorer where you can add your site.

There are primarily 3 steps involved here.
-
As soon as you click ‘Add my Site’, if you are not logged in, Yahoo! asks you to login. Which you need to do.
-
Your site will be added to the list of Sites with a ‘Explore’ button. Click ‘Explore’. As your site had not been submitted earlier for Yahoo! to get indexed, you will be asked to Submit your site first.
-
Submit Your Site to Yahoo! provides 2 options for you. They are:
- Submit a Website or Webpage
- Submit Site Feed
- Choose the appropriate option here. If you are going to submit a website or a webpage, provide it’s URL in the space provided and click ‘Submit URL’. If you are submitting a Feed, copy the RSS Feed and paste in the space provided.

Once you have submitted, you are done with Submitting URL, Yahoo intimates you with the following message:
Thank you! Your URL has been added to our list of URLs to crawl. Please expect a delay of several weeks before your URL is crawled.
Note that in the effort to maximize the quality of search results that appear on Yahoo! and our other distribution partners, we do not add every submitted URL to our search index. Therefore we cannot make predictions or guarantees about whether your URL will appear as a search result.
Now, just wait until Yahoo crawls your site, which you get to know by checking your site logs from time to time.
Akismet enabled Wordpress Blogs are not stopped from getting spammed
There are numerous ways bloggers can prevent their blogs from being the scapegoat of spammers. Spammers do not rest, as they are not humans checking out each and every blog and commenting with a range of one to hundreds of links in a single comment. Spammers have taken the form of bots(software scripts crawling around the internet just like search engine spiders) equipped with strongest programming skills. Spam bots comment under the disguise of real commentors actually interested in your post. But, actually they are not.
Your blogs are not at rest even with the best anti-spam plugin, Akismet(for WordPress Self Hosted blogs) which stops most of the spam comments. I too faced a huge count of spam comments in the earlier stages, even with Akismet installed. The spam count usually had been 10–15 comments which sounded too honest to make me believe that the commenter had actually read my post and was trying to spell out his views. But, once you observe unbiasedly, you would see the actual underlying link in the comment which points to some non-realistic and nonchalant portal which might be actually spewing malicious code once you open it(This happened twice). Check a very good spam comment below.
