India, as a Nation is presently booming with youngsters who can change and who are indeed changing the facet of the nation in a manner, which is providing a helping hand in placing the nation at the forefront of many advancements in the fields of medicine, engineering and space exploration. India, as nation does suffer its part with the strange agenda of the uncompromising rural block-heads who always wish to live in the Stone Age and do not wish their people and families to move on and embrace the changes happening in the surroundings.
When a guy thinks of a marriage, He gets into the search for the perfect bride, both in terms of beauty(not skin-deep, the idea of racial and color discrimination is fast eroding.) and intelligence. If he finds a suitable person who shares his ideas and ideals, then the parents from both the sides meet and decide upon the marriage date and other rituals such as dowry and gifts for the guy’s family members. Strangely, an age old tradition which was considered to be vanished had recently sprung back in the interiors of Bihar, a well-known for most under-developed and hooligan centric state in India. This custom specifies that if a groom is liked by the bride’s family and if the dowry and other gifts are not satisfactory to the groom’s family and if the plan for the marriage is dropped, that where the tradition comes to life. This tradition allows the hooligans to kidnap the groom and present him to the bride’s family and enable them to marry their daughter to the poor groom. So, there is nothing like groom’s consent here.

This strange custom is called as Pakraua Vivaah, which means Forcefull Marriage. Yes, it happens religiously and if the groom says NO, there is no law to protect him from the bad guys and there is nothing to save him from getting his head chopped off or getting him registered in the Missing Persons case with the Cops.
Believe it.
