Google in collaboration with T-Mobile officially launched the mobile G1, the very first mobile phone to be built on Google’s open source, a Linux based Android Platform. So, now lets close all the speculation and look into the phone with all the features that it’s offering and allowing the developers to tweak into their mobiles.
Breaking the never ending and creative tested mobile designs from around the world, Google has formally launched the G1 mobile with close ties from T-Mobile. For the time being, developers can alter the phase of how the mobile works by getting themselves a fully SIM-unlocked T-Mobile G1 with enhanced unlocked bootloader which allows them to flash the custom built Android. So what does this mean to the non-techies? It means, no more signed and trusted heavy weight applications to be run on your G1 mobile.

Called the Android Dev Phone 1, the special device will be available to all developers registered at the Android Market from 18 international markets including US, UK, Germany, Japan, India, Canada, France, Taiwan, Spain, Australia, Singapore, Switzerland, Netherlands, Austria, Sweden, Finland, Poland, and Hungary(more to come).

Ever since Google officially made Android OS, an open source, “Android Dev Phone 1” mobile proves to be the next leap for Google. The piece currently costs an exuberant $399 with a facility of free shipping within US. Hold on, there is a pre-condition which we need to follow up. Which is, you need to hold a developer’s registration at the Google’s Android Market, which would cost you a life-time registration fee of $25.

Google wishes to limit the supply of the SIM unlocked G1 mobiles as only one per developer and as Google forewarns the common enthusiasts that “Android Dev Phone 1 devices are not intended for non-developer end users. Since the devices can be configured with system software not provided by or supported by Google or any other company, end users operate these devices at their own risk.” Scary, for some!!

Geeks too love colors,so G1 is also available in 3 different colors. White, Bronze and Black. Who said Geeks are color blind??
The G1 is a dual-band HSDPA (1700/2100) and quad-band GSM device.
Built by HTC, the phone features a 320×480 touch screen, a hidden QWERTY keyboard, Wi-Fi, 3G, and an accelerometer. Integrated on the G1′s keyboard is a trackball for thumb-based navigation, and a 3-megapixel camera. Finally, there is a dedicated Internet and phone search button, built-in Internet applications and access to thousands of applications via the new Android marketplace.
The phone provides a 1GB card by default and the memory pack can be expanded upto 8GB. Hmmm, I smell something burning, might be an Apple pie!!!
Now play your YouTube videos on a feature rich touch screen phone which boasts of rich audio and video capabilities.
Provide your comments if you have already purchased one or if you are going to get one.
