A few minutes back, I had been logging in and checking my umpteen email addresses on Gmail and my personal domain name email services. While all the others were working fine, I faced an intermittent problem which was not expected when using Gmail until now.
At times, I use Google Chrome, to log into Gmail and to check my blog which I update with plugins and security patches. I basically use Chrome in order to verify whether there is anything broken in the layout or structure of Team Nirvana. But now, when I tried to log into Gmail, it didn’t allow me to do so even after trying multiple times.

The first thought that stuck me was, whether I had been entering my credentials wrong? Or Is my account hacked? or Has my account been banned? Some trivial questions which stuck me like a bolt of lightening, until, I read the message provided beneath the ‘Password’ text box.
We cannot log you into your account at this time. Please try again later.
Surely, this is a hindrance. But, when I checked with Fire Fox and IE8, it was fine. I was able to login without any hassles. Anything wrong with the Browser Sniffing?
Have you faced similar kind of situation?

Same issue here. Kinda ironic that Google recommends using Chrome for a better Gmail experience. About 12 hours after installing Chrome, it refuses to login to Gmail. I’ve tried everything to fix this. Back to FireFox.
Go the same issue this morning. Really weird.

This problem is being faced in an ad hoc manner. At times, Chrome loads Gmail so fast and at times, I am presented with the view given in the post.
No other option at that time, other than to utilize Firefox. IE never
It just happend to me trying out Chrome for the first time. I’m otherwise impressed with the browser but this is a strange hindrance.
I have had this happen many times. It can be resolved if, after receiving that annoying error message, you type into the address bar ‘gmail.com’ again. You should be able to login that second time around. I’ve tried using a shortcut to no avail… for some reason it only works if you type it into the address bar.
@Rhayne: Thanks for the tip. I will give it a try and update the post with your solution.
