Yesterday we discussed on How to find .GOV blogs to comment and increase backlinks. Today we will discuss on how to find wordpress blogs to comment on – there by again increasing the backlinks. Any Search Engine researcher or enthusiast would definitely agree the worth of backlinks and the efforts that need to be put in to increase the backlinks.
As a WordPress user, I have several blogs running on this great CMS which is an excellent open source software assisting innumerable blogs, both personal and corporate to run smoothly. Bloggers find it extremely helpful because of the wide spread use and as well as the great tutorials offered by several WordPress enthusiasts.

So, as any blog needs more visitors, the traffic of the blog increases by many sites pointing that particular website through the right set of keywords. But, attaining the number of backlinks is hard to accomplish as it takes quite some time to find out the right kind of blogs or websites. The easier task would be to get an expired domain which already has a PageRank and working on it to increase the visitors and the validity.

A small tip to find the exact or close to exact blogs which are writing something similar to what you are searching is given below. Just copy and EDIT THE KEYWORDS as per your requirement and shoot in any search engine for get the results.

‘Leave a Reply’ ‘Name “(required)”‘ ‘Mail (will not be published) “(required)”‘ ‘WordPress’ + ‘KEYWORDS’

You can add any number of variations to get the desired results.

Share any tips that you have to us. We will post them along with a link to your blog or site.

Bloggers are aware of how hard it is to get a valid backlink from high page rank websites or blogs. It’s a well known fact that the most viable option to increase the backlinks and there by increase the SERPs is to provide valid comments on the blog posts which cater to the same niche. Today, lets learn how to maximise the chances of getting more link juice from high Pagerank sites and that too for free.

We are aware that government owned and maintained websites with .gov TLD get more link juice from search engines. But, why do search engines provide so much importance to the .gov websites even though they are not esthetically designed, sites are sometimes incomplete with blank sections, crappy headlines and content and near to nothing SEO?

The answer is AVAILABILITY. Search engines give more importance to the content on government websites because the information on a gov. website is meant for the people and the information should be available to the people in search of it. This info is indexed by search engines and the keywords are set at high priorities, so that when a user searches using the exact keywords, the results match exactly to what the government is speaking about. The user is made aware of the information shared on a priority basis.

At times, recently this trend is in high wave, government websites have blogs on which professional bloggers employed by the government agencies blog. Their blog posts range from discussing the new reforms taken up by the government or new changes in the present laws and all the things which are looked upon by a government body.

These kind of blogs are mainly indexed by search engines because the blog is directly related to that .gov website under which it is being built. This makes the PR of that particular .gov blog hit the sky.

This is where the bloggers need to concentrate on to post valid comments based in the niche and leave a link in the comment or website section of the comment form. As always, the comment should be relevant, up to the point and precise. Do not beat the dead horse and repeat what’s already in the blog post. Share your version of the blog post and tell the blogger where he had provided a valuable point or where he had faltered.

But, how to find these government blogs which allow us to post comments on them?

Use the following search query in any search engine, personally I prefer and checked extensively on Big G.

site:.gov inurl:blog “post a comment” -”you must be logged in”-”KEYWORD”

I think the search query is quite self explanatory. You are asking the search engines to give you a site which has a TLD of .gov. You are also asking to give government websites which have “blog” in their URL and providing optional sentences which are quite common on blogs like ‘post a comment’ or ‘you must be logged in’ and ‘keyword’.

The keyword might range from ‘anthrax’ to ‘zoo cleaning’. Check these samples:

site:.gov inurl:blog “post a comment” -”you must be logged in”-”travel”

site:.gov inurl:blog “post a comment” -”you must be logged in”-”construction”

site:.gov inurl:blog “post a comment” -”you must be logged in”-”taxes”

site:.gov inurl:blog “post a comment” -”you must be logged in”-”insurance”

Most of the government blogs require you to register before posting a comment. I would suggest to register, which is most probably FREE, and submit valid comments and leave a link to your website or blog.

You can replicate the same method to find educational websites, with a TLD of .EDU

You might have come across Twitter’s popular search mechanism which displays the results on the fly. Now Wowd provides similar kind of search feature in real time on browsers for the first time. Wowd is in a private invite stage and after getting an invite, you need to download a 10 MB application to make Wowd work for you.

Wowd claims that their search mechanism of finding good web pages with appropriate information is based on the human judgment but not through software bots and crawlers. The ‘good’ web pages are nominated to be displayed in the browser based on the people nominating them, by just viewing them. So, a view is basically considered a vote in the Wowd system and I suppose this is not completely flawless.

Wowd boasts about having a total understanding over the popular sites that are doing good on the entire web(Google doesn’t know this, yet), and delivers the real time results based on the computations performed on various top and popular sites being referred by all social media sites, all news sites, all blog sites…

Here is an excerpt

Other real-time search services achieve timeliness at the expense of comprehensiveness. These services typically index just a handful of sites. In contrast, Wowd delivers real-time results from the entire web, including all social media sites, all news sites, all blog sites… in fact, all public sites, everywhere, can be included in the Wowd index.

How to Use it?

As I said earlier Wowd is in a invite only stage and you need to provide an email address at their site. Once you get an invite, you need to download a 10 MB application which runs on the local computer as a web browser application.

The application sits in the system tray and when you click it, it displays a local search engine running on your system, but not from the Wowd site. You can even mail or tweet or write on your Facebook wall from the comfort of a single web page. And, if you find any web site from the results to be inappropriate, you can give a thumbs down to that particular site making it loose the vote count.

But, I don’t see a registration form, anywhere?

Wowd does not ask its users to register and there is no registration process involved.

Wowd, I suppose becomes more interesting and clever once it scans the entire web or at least top social media sites and pools in the sites without needing us to visiting multiple social book marking sites(to starters).

One word of caution, though, is that I have observed Wowd application to be eavesdropping on my Google search history too. I observed this as I installed this app and when I searched for something using Google, Wowd displayed the Web History promptly. I track my web history using Google Account itself, so I do not want some one else to be eavesdropping on me to know what I am searching for.

System resources required for Wowd are a lot similar to what you need to run Windows Vista. Here is the list:

Hardware requirements

CPU: Pentium 4 class or better

RAM: minimum 512 MB RAM, but for best performance, 1GB or more

Disk: 1GB free disk space on your hard drive

Internet connection: 256 Kbps or better

Wowd caters to various OS users too with different flavors. Wowd supports Windows, Mac OS, Linux 32–bit and 64–bit. You select which version you need to download and use based on your OS.

Wowd is observed to be a system heavy process consuming nearly 120 MB of system’s memory. That’s not good for a web application. I suppose the private server running on the client machine does take that much of space and I hope Wowd team can reduce that in the future versions.

I am going to try out on this new kind of search engine and find out the different ways I can tweak in order to attain my desired results. I will post an update if I find anything out of the blue.

Keywords are life to niche based affiliate sales pages or website or blogs.Choosing right keywords from different versatile tools is an essential aspect of marketing and performing SEO

Keywords are the essential juice for a website or a blog to make its presence felt online. The nest keywords like loans, finance, cars, automobiles, mobiles, cellphones and other similar single words(pricey) do cost the skies. These costly keywords do bring in millions of results virtually in any search engine. To prove the point, lemme search for ‘loan’ and ‘mobile’ in Google and Bing(Yes, I started loving it).

If you check the above images, you can come to know how competitive the single keywords are. These keywords are chosen based on the niche which the website or blog is going to state about in plenty. Just like this blog, Team Nirvana, deals with Technology, Blogging and Reviews, these three are the niches which I am penning about mostly. These niches vary from the pin point to a plane(that is, the scope is too huge). Based on a niche you have chosen to write about, you need to exercise caution how to choose the keywords which are used widely and you need to choose them wisely, because they are thousands in general.

Lets move on and find out the different methods to trace out and make use of the keywords based on your chosen niche.

But, there is not a reason to fret as there are umpteen services which help you in choosing different niche specific keywords which are sure to bring in revenue. The revenue can be derived from the organic traffic from the search engines, or through affiliate sales and writing review posts. Let’s check some keyword research tools which can provide you an in-depth analysis over the keywords that you choose and how you can market your website or blog or a product.

Google Keyword Tool: Rated The Best tool until now because of the stats that it provides. The stats provided include the Advertiser Competition and the Search volume by month. So, if you are searching for powerful keywords in your niche and the ones which you need to concentrate on, this is the right place to start your quest.

Traffic Marks: Traffic Marks™ is the easier, faster, more elegant way to get on the front page of Google in record speed. Traffic Marks lets you analyze the keywords that you have chosen and provides detailed report on the sites which are ranking high on the same keyword.

Word Tracker: This is one of the best tools in the paid section. The report that Word Tracker provides comprehensive(read, exhausted) reports of keywords which can provide you boost over your competitor in the niche that you guys are writing about or making sales from. If you wish to have a look at their keyword reports, you can get them at a marginal amount by placing an order for the keyword reports at WordTracker.

Keyword Spy: This tool provides you an in depth analysis if you are planning to spy over your competitor’s keywords which bring in organic traffic. Using Keyword Spy, you can research the keywords and understand the strategies being used in a wide scale.

Spacky: An interesting tool which I came across while researching for this post. This tool lets you search for a keyword and amazingly it lets you know the other keywords similar to the one searching and provides you with the search volume in major search engines. So, Search, Track and post more to bring in more visitors.

SEMRush: Similar to others which track your competitors keywords and the amount they are spending on the Adwords(They pay, you learn)

I have observed multitude of services being provided by various sites such as Rank Tracker, SEOBook, Market Samurai, Traffic Travis and a lot of others. But, it’s all in your choice to select one or two tools to research and work on the keywords rather than forcing yourself to be using tons of tools and getting confused.

No two fingers are alike and no two reports are exactly the same. So, follow your instincts.

And also, do not forget to share any tools that you use in researching for keywords. Your comments would help other readers too. And yeah, do not forget to share and bookmark this post for future reference.

At times, you create a new site or blog and wish to test the themes and layouts and wish to play around and tweak the settings a little. You choose different themes and load them up into the Themes folder through FTP and fire them up in your Admin section. All is well, but rather than going the much used path, which is posting gibberish or lorem ipsum text, you choose to copy and paste any of your valuable post which is widely popular in one of your blog or site. This approach is good, if you do not mind the duplicate content warning and missing out the relevant credibility.

But, if you wish to keep your ranking in search results and your authenticity of not posting the duplicate content, then you need to be aware of the method which will enable you to block the search engine spiders as long as you wish to test your site and do not want it to be indexed until and unless you press the Official Release button.

How to do it?

Open your robots.txt file.

Add

User-agent: *
Disallow: /test/

It’s Done.

Do mind that ‘test’ in /test/ is actually the name of the directory which you wish to prevent from indexing.

And, do not forget to remove this code snippet when you are done with testing and going Live.

Do suggest any ideas which you are aware of or implement in order to achieve the same feature. We would like to hear from You.
